Lot 3 Slow Lane, Ludlow, Maine, 04730
Extremely affordable off grid cabin with 50 acres in the woods surrounding a private trout pond. The cabin is in need of a lot of TLC. Jacking and leveling, staining, cleaning, replacing some doors and windows. It is priced so you can afford to do the work.
The cabin is perched on a high knoll overlooking the pond. A new roof was done less than 2 years ago. We think the bones are good and worth saving, come take a look at see if you agree. If not, take it down and build your new cabin here.
The land is a mix of hardwood and softwoods that have recently been thinned. A new road has been built for better access to the property. The elevations are 700 to 800 feet above. Soils have a little too much slope to be good for farming but are excellent for small gardens, food plots and explosive tree growth.
The pond was formed years ago when you could build a dam on Lamb Brook. The resulting ponded area is approximately 5 acres with seasonal fluctuations depending on rainfall. The pond is home to many wading birds, eagles, otters and beaver.
The nearby region is farming and there is a reasonable population of whitetail deer with some trophies spotted every year roaming the forest. This region is well known for trophy black bears and some of the finest grouse hunting in Maine. Snowmobiling can be done right from the property. Come recreate here and see why they call it THE COUNTY!
