Sysladobsis Lake is a real gem in a region with so many lakes. It is remote yet accessible, has nearly all of Maine’s gamefish and is almost 10 miles in length. Dobsy as the locals refer to it has cozy narrows and coves plus a large open basin with something for everyone from the paddler to the power boater. The lake has nearly 5,400 surface acres and max depth of 66 feet just south of Horseshoe Cove.
Sakom Township, also known as T5 ND BPP, is and unorganized township in Washington County. West Grand Lake is partly in the township along with several other large freshwater lakes. While this area has few if any city/town services, what is does have is an extremely affordable property tax rate, among some of the lowest in New England.
If you are looking for a camp that you can enjoy on weekends and vacations without breaking the bank, you owe it to yourself to check this one out.
