13 Hatch Point Road, Franklin, Maine, 04634
Taunton Bay, private two-bedroom, two bath home with guest room above the garage. 1.5+- acres with beautiful views of Taunton Bay and Creasy Cove. Just off shore, there is a ledge where you can watch the seals resting before high tide brings in their dinner.
No neighbors in site so you can just relax on the front deck with a cocktail or kick back in the gazebo.
The first floor of this classic coastal cape has a combination of charming brick and wood flooring. A split heat pump provides heat and AC on the first and second floors. There is an eat in kitchen that has a propane heat stove. Off the kitchen is a full bathroom and a convenient first floor laundry closet. On the waterfront side of the first floor is a living room with water views and direct access to the deck. Finishing the first floor is a large family room with field stone fireplace that the current owner gathered stones from the property to build. The family room walls are mostly glass so the natural light and views are fantastic.
Upstairs is a guest bedroom and a setting area with built in desk and views of the bay. The setting area would make a nice home office space. Finishing the second floor is the master bedroom suite with wide pine flooring, master bath with jacuzzi tub and a wood stove. Off the master is a balcony with spectacular views of the ocean. Enjoy your morning coffee while soaking in the fresh salt air.
The detached two car garage has a finished space above that consists of a living room with propane stove, bedroom with walk in closet and a bathroom. This is a great place for your friends and visiting family.
Located just off the Schoodic National Scenic Byway. This is such a peaceful and easy place to spend your summers. You will not be bothered by the usual high traffic and tourist areas. Easy 15-minute drive to downtown Ellsworth and about 30-minute drive to Acadia National Park at Schoodic Point. Less known but very scenic Hancock Point overlooking Frenchman Bay and Bar Harbor is only 10 minutes from this property and is a great spot to look for sea glass. The best of both worlds. If you like to kayak, head north into Hogs Bay for exploring and bird watching the many coves and salt marshes. If you like to boat, head out the Mount Desert Narrows into Frenchman Bay and over to Bar Harbor, about 11 miles by boat. Fresh lobster, fresh air, antiquing, Acadia National Park, boating, kayaking, privacy, have we missed anything? How about the campfire overlooking the bay? This one should check all your boxes.
